What We Like About FreedomVoice

24/7 Free Teleconferencing:

FreedomVOICE is now offering this feature FREE for one year. After that, it’s only $5 a month plus minute usage to continue the service. This reservation-less service gives you a permanent toll-free number that is available 24/7 for your conferences.

No More 2-Leg Billing:

We give FreedomVoice credit for discontinuing their practice of 2-leg billing within the U.S. What 2-Leg billing means, is that a provider charges for the incoming call to the pbx and then again to connect from the pbx to your number. There is one exception with FreedomVoice to this however, and that is Canada, in which calls from Canada to a Canadian number are charged 6.9 cents on the incoming leg and an additional 4.4 for the connected leg.

WebLINK Internet Control Panel.

WebLINK is an online control panel that lets you manage your FreedomVOICE Virtual Office from anywhere, if you have Internet access. WebLINK allows you to check your voice and fax messages from any computer. It also allows you to make changes to your virtual office settings in real-time, offering the tools and reports you need to fit your virtual PBX to your changing business needs. Turn your voice system into a virtual PBX through the WebLINK web access system.

Customization of Features:

FreedomVoice offers a number of customizations that add to the flexibility of their toll free systems. If you have specific needs for your business, FreedomVoice can create customized systems to fulfill your specific business request.

What We Don’t Like About FreedomVoice

Incomplete List of Features:

If you visit the website of FreedomVoice, you will not have quick access to the list of its available features or plans and pricing. It does not have a features tab readily apparent. You would have to act like you are signing up, without actually completing it, to get the prices and features. And once you have finally seen the list, you will notice that only a few features are included. One would think that those are all the features that they actually offer. So we have included the complete list of features in this review to inform all readers:

Complete list of features:

Dedicated Toll Free, Voicemail, Unlimited Voicemail Storage, Email Delivery, Integrated Fax (Send and Receive), Auto Attendant, Access by Phone, Follow Me Forwarding, Call Announce, Call Hold, Call Screening, Call Transfer, ACD Queuing, Hold Music, Random Hold Music, Non-Blockable Caller ID (toll-free number only), Web interface, Cardless Calling Card, Call Reports, Return Calls, Call Block, Pager Alert, Fax On Demand, Voice On Demand, SMS Notifications, Simultaneous call forwarding, Dial by name, Dial by extension, Hunt Groups, Questionnaires.

Additional Monthly Charges for Local Lines:

With Freedom Voice, unlike all of our other providers, having a local line will get you a $10 a month additional charge. This seems a bit steep, since none of the other providers we review charge a monthly fee for a local line if you select a local number as one of the included lines in the plan you select.

Many “Standard” features Incur Additional Fees:

With FreedomVoice Expect to be charged additional monthly fees for many features that are standard with other providers. *** UPDATE: we were given wrong information *** There is no additional charge for answering rules or queing. And they do offer a click-to-call feature at no additional charge. However after 1 year, Call Conferencing will cost you $5/mo, and if you want Call Recording which is a standard feature with Phone.com, it will set you back a stunning $69.95/month. Their pricing with regards to everything from addional lines to which features are included versus are a paid service, can be difficult to determine and grasp. This may be due the the fact that they will customize any feature that a client asks for, so this makes a full list of features and pricing difficult to determine.

Limited Customer Support Times:

Their customer support is available for very limited time-frame (Monday-Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. PST) unlike the 24/7 customer support available to other virtual phone systems.

FreedomVoice Review Summary

FreedomVoice offers most of the same features available in a our other virtual phone system vendors, plus some added extras that we have not seen in other systems. We like how they offer their customers the ability to customize features to meet their specific needs – this gives them the flexibility that others simply don’t have. This flexibility will allow them to build intelligent and elegant solutions to the customers’ most specific needs.

However, the fact that they charge fees for some of what are considered standard features with most other providers, can get expensive depending upon your needs. Combine this with limited customer service availabllity and a very limited free trial period, and we just feel that there are better choices available at this time if you don’t need to heavily customize your features for specific needs.

Even if you cancel service and contest it with you credit card they will continue to bill you. Even if you should you cannot log in nor has there be any activity on the line for 18 months (impossible for any USA phone number since robo calls and random calls happen daily). Forget reasoning with anyone there. Even the credit card company will be shocked at their attitude as they were with me on a 3 way call. This is exactly how NOT to do business

This service is TERRIBLE! All I want is for the system to place the auto attendant greeting customers to the service I am advertising for them to call for. To add on to that, I’ve gotten it to work (and had tested it); for example – the options of the customer pressing 1 for membership services, 2 for customer care, 3 for additional help, etc. When I tested if the numbers actually get routed/forwarded to its respective number – IT DOESN’T. Every single time it goes either straight to voicemail, or just doesn’t ring at all. And if it does ring? there is a major delay between rings. I had successfully forwarded my companies number to let’s say extension 1 or whatever; when customers press 1, they get voicemail.

There is NO WAY that you can cancel your membership with them. No button on their website that allows you to either deactivate, cancel, delete your subscription, NOTHING! So, once this free 30-day trial expires, and I get charged for a service that doesn’t work to my liking. YouTube is a very powerful tool to bring awareness to people about this service.

I have been having problems with my customers calling me and by the time it rings for me it has rung several times for the customer…That delay is entirely unacceptable in my business that relies almost entirely on phonecalls. Another problem I have is if I try to call the customer back through the freedomvoice keypad it doesnt allow the call to go through. I can call back my customer through my personal cell number but that defeats the purpose of this service if they dont recognize its me calling them back.

When I contacted customer support, they told me that I had it set up wrong, so they made some changes to how my caller id works to speed things up but actually the problem seems worse now. It definitely didnt make it any better. I am going to try one more time with customer support if it doesnt get any better, Im canceling my service.

Fingers crossed…I hate to think about all the customers I have lost in my first month of service. It is extremely frustrating to have customers take the time to call me and they cant get through to me when I am brand new….Im spending a fortune to get search engine optimzation so customers can find me but they cant get through on a call…This is a huge problem. If they do not fix it this review will get much worse.

I placed an order to try the service out. I saw a message saying my order is under manual review and I need to call to speed it up.

After calling, and waiting for an hour on the phone, they told me, they can’t do business with me, I got shocked, when I asked them why, they said they don’t know. just having a message in the system. I never got service declined, never had transaction rejected. Gotta Say big ? Mark. would never waste my time with those people. They never bothered email me there is an issue.

I own A Distributions Company In The State Of California And My Company Wanted To Close our Account With Them And Import Our Numbers. They Refused To Release Our Company Numbers Over To Our New Carrier. And Our Company Lost Thousands Of Dollars In Business. I Do Not Recommend Anyone To USE This Company At All. Because Of This. We Are Going To File A Lawsuit On This Business.

They will not cancel your account when you ask them to. Avoid this business at all costs. I wound up being charged for an additional month and I am still fighting with them to clear up the cancellation.

Worked great for several years. For the past 3 + months is is not compatible with Safari unless you download the file & listen on iTunes. Customer service keeps saying they are aware & will add to the open ticket. They are claiming my system is at fault. Have tried on several computers with the same result – their technicians are marginal at resolving issues. Time to change services

We had so many negative experiences while using this service. First of all, the 800 number is transferred to my extension and many times it doesn’t ring and goes straight into voicemail. Recently they changed the way you record your greeting and we could not get it to update. I’ve also have people calling me stating they have a call from us when we did not call them. I am not sure if all of these are related to issues with FreedomVoice, but we have had enough of an issue that it’s worth moving onto another service. I am curious as to how many customers we have lost due to the issues. Very disappointed.

I have tried to use this fax service for a year. Almost every attempt to fax fails. I was recently told I can’t fax more than two pages at a time. This has been a waste of time and money.

Freedom Voice seems to work as advertised for me and has for some time now. But, my problem is…when a call goes to vmail and I receive a copy via email. I open the email to listen to the message. But, when I close the email, it suddenly slows down and/or stops everything I may have open on my PC. For a few minutes, nothing works like it should, ie, slows, stops, is not responding msgs, etc. A few minutes after closing the Freedom Voice voicemail msg, things return to normal. Freedom Voice says this is on my end, that I have too many other programs open or such…but, often times, I have just MS Outlook and maybe one other program running. It does not appear they have anyone who can help troubleshoot the problem or knows what may be causing this issue. But, if I have to start closing programs before I can close their email msgs, that’s not good. Any ideas out there?

Horrible service, do not recommend this to anyone. Issue after issue and customer service always has an excuse. Phone doesn’t ring at times and customers can not get thru, fax only works half the time and hardly ever receives faxes. No real way to track phone calls, sometimes it takes over an hour for calls to register on their portal. Half the people in customer service are completely clueless and do not know how to resolve any issues.

In the past 2-3 months we have started losing calls or having them either ring only once or twice or completelymiss the first number they’re supposed to be forwarded to and go to the second. And sometimes they are missed completely and end up with an email message instead. Not a good thing for a business that depends on phone calls.

Hello everyone. I am so sorry you guys are having a hard time. WE LOVE THE SERVICE FROM FREEDOM VOICE. We are a group of people that takes calls from people that are in need of help. We transferred our AT&T number and toll free number and have set up different numbers, not lines, for people to call in. Meaning, if they call our helpline, (that is what we use the service for), one of our members will answer the phone. For instance, it rings 3-4 times to my number, if i dont pick up, it goes to another one of our members number, etc.. We may have ran into 1 or 2 issues, but the customer service department was great with helping us solve the problem. We were paying AT&T almost $100 every month and now we pay less than $40 for this service. I have referred this phone service to many other places that have help lines are have not heard of any complaints. Let customer service help you set things up. Hope I helped.

Horrid customer service. I have been a customer and have noticed their support team is far from qualified in dealing with support issues or even knowing the basics of how their system works. I have spent nearly two months trying to get them to fix basic issues to no resolve. Extremely disappointed and encourage others to go elsewhere!!!

Very disappointed. Just signed up at the end of February and now March 17th, my number is not working and may not have been working since March 8th. My customers can’t get through and its costing me money!

There is no support on Sunday much less no support 24/7 when you are down. This is not acceptable and will need to port it to a more reliable provider with better cusotmer service hours.

Hi Tracy, I understand your frustration, and I’m very sorry your customers were unable to get through to you. It looks like Customer Care was able to get everything working for you again. If this is not the case, or if there is anything else I can help you with, please don’t hesitate to email me at social@freedomvoice.com. Thank you
